OUR
APPROACH
Responsiveness We
try to see ourselves from your perspective. In most
cases, you are being required to find someone like us to
review and certify a set of structural plans so that you can
get a building permit or you are deeply concerned about a
possible structural problem and need to have your mind at
rest about how to proceed. We know you are usually
pressed for time and need our help without delay. We
are absolutely committed to delivering the services you
require in the shortest possible time frame that is
acceptable to you. If we cannot do this, we will help
you find someone who can. This is a promise we will
not break.
Current Focus Our
current passion and emphasis is for challenging, unusual,
and difficult projects that are relatively small in scope.
This has arisen out of our current emphasis on residential
projects in the rocky, mountainous terrain where we live and
work on a day-to-day basis. We do not typically
provide “broad-scope” engineering and drafting
services on large projects. We prefer to review plans
that have already been prepared and provide the structural
framing plans only. If the structural framing plans
have already been drawn, we can “red-line” them
for drafting by others. This approach minimizes
structural engineering design costs and you have what you
need to get the job done in the shortest possible time
frame.
Experience Each
project we do, receives our collective experience designing
more than 4,000 structural projects over a consulting period
of approximately twenty years, plus an additional twenty
years experience in structural sales engineering, structural
subcontracting, truss fabrication, and general contracting.
Teamwork We
believe the best designs result from a close collaboration
between the owner, designer, builder and engineer.
There is almost always more than one option for the solution
to any problem. Each team member brings a unique
perspective to the evaluation, assessment, choice and cost
of each option so that the owner can make a well-informed
decision.
Conflict ResolutionWe
are experienced in forensic engineering and have provided
expert testimony on a few occasions. However, we would
prefer to bring our talent and experience to bear on helping
the parties mediate and come to a satisfactory agreement
regarding their dispute. If you find yourself in need
of an attorney, we can help you find an experienced
construction litigator.
Fees We
believe our fees are competitive and probably on the high
side. We bring a lot of experience to the table and
believe that is worth a small premium in cost. Most of
our projects are done on an hourly rate basis. We will
be glad to provide a budget or upset price once we have an
opportunity to review your plans.
