Bret
Covher discovered his passion for
construction somewhere around the age of 7 with his
first lego kit, and though other intests fed his
love to create, like studying music all through the
schooling years, he found he could express
creativity and use his hands building homes. Bret is
a father of 3 children, president of Carolina
Builder and doesn't know when to quit working to

Andy
Timan gave up a promising career
answering phones and sleeping behind the front desk
of Old Edwards Inn to join the diehard in the
construction industry about 8 years ago. Since then,
he has surpassed all peers in his profession and
finds satisfaction in excellence and efficiency.
Andy has 3 children and had the fortune to marry

Chris
Pangle is the kind of guy that
makes sure the job is done the right way or he'd fix
it on his own time ('cause he's done it before').
Chris has a bunch of kids (3), a bunch of bills and
has finally gotten rid of his junky truck for a
decent running vehicle. Chris has been building in
Highlands, Cashiers and Franklin area for at least
10 years (that I know of). |

Todd
Prince has a well rounded
construction repertoire including experience with
welding, commercial construction and supervision as
well as residential building. Todd knows how to run
a crew and most likely owns the cleanest job site in
Macon County. Having been around the block a couple
times (no, he's not that old) and a veteran of the
armed services, Todd knows how to get something
done. Todd has a son in college and a brand new
mortgage. |

Robert
Soroka usually hands out at our
Asheville projects and though he can perform a
rounded display of carpentry, usually sticks to the
trim and details of wood working. Rob's been
swinging a hammer for a long time (at least 20 years
... I think I was still in high school then). Rob
has 2 children. |

Five years ago, Breat
realized he had reached the end of what working for local
builders could offer and saw a deficiency in the local
product. So being a challenge driven sort of person and
figuring that he could build anything, he struck out on his
own and incorporated Carolina Builder Services. Wow, was
there more to buisiness than just building a beautiful
home!! Somehow we made it through the hiring, paperwork and
the first year. It was now apparent the right people had to
be found to build a superior company and it was about this
time that Andy joined the team. We discovered that good
people are hard to find, and when we find one, we adopt
them. The philosophy from the beginning was that the
company's success should be shared by all who contributed to
it, and it's been that way ever since. The next hurtle was
obtaining permission to build, so Bret studied hard, passed
the contractors exam and now we are licensed in the great
state of North Carolina.
Though we have experience
bulding conventional and remodeling we have worked on timber
frame log homes as well. We enjoy stretching typical
construction, but what we specialize in is creativity. The
company was started with only 3 essential ideas
- Quality should never be
compromised (no matter if it hurts)
- Creativity should be
encouraged (the details make the project)
- Employees / subs
should share in the success (a man always takes care of
what is his)
We set out to be
different at the beginning. We set out to be different in
our heart, scrutiny and ethics. We set out to be the best.
